Heat-Sealed Moulded Plastic Packaging... FAIL!

I would dearly love to know why many companies continue to package their products in the heat-sealed, moulded plastic packaging as it really sucks from a usability viewpoint. Would you really want your customer's first impression of your product to be fighting with a pair of scissors to attempt to open the packaging, and in my case, usually spill a few drops of blood before they are able to touch your product for the first time? I certainly wouldn't.

C'mon guys, you can build great quality products, so please take a few moments to design some usable packaging.
